Poor induction can lead to poor levels of retention. Inductions can play an immediate and positive role in defining a new staff member’s experience.
Induction
Research has shown that bad induction can lead to poor levels of retention whilst effective induction can rapidly get a new employee up to speed and contributing. New recruits are also most receptive to induction based learning the earlier it is delivered – having to wait months before attending a classroom based induction program is often too late to be truly useful.
Induction is an ideal application of e-learning and which can be delivered immediately to new employees and even before they turn up for their first day at work. The best kind of induction based e-learning:
- enables new recruits to find out what they need about their new place of work
- provides opportunities for employers to learn more about the new recruits
- provides the opportunity for new recruits to learn more about themselves and their own personal development
Cimex has worked with a range of clients such as the COI and Home Office to evaluate potential return on investment on new induction programmes and to deliver successful induction solutions. We work closely with clients to evaluate existing methods of induction and recommend the best combination of both e-learning and more traditional classroom based delivery.
