Games encourage highly effective learning through complex problem solving and simulation. Soft skills can be developed and taught through collaborative and team play opportunities. Most important is the level of motivation and highly focused engagement that can be achieved in well developed serious games.

Whether it is a complex biodiversity simulation where the player takes on the role of an animal trying to adapt and survive in their environment (Bio Bob – Royal Institution of Great Britain Inside Out website) or a fishing game incorporating a surreal cast of gnomes designed to engage adults with poor levels of literacy and numeracy (Plural Fishing – BBC Skillswise). In the case of BBC Skillswise 700,000 adults play our games every month.
