Cimex was tasked with developing and running a website which asked the public how they'd like to spend £50million of lottery money.
Cimex was briefed by the Big Lottery Fund to develop an online platform to help find the winner of a £50 million National Lottery grant, for a groundbreaking project that would inspire communities to revitalise the areas where they live.
The site would be the primary means of providing the public with objective information about each of the projects (Eden Project: The Edge, Black Country Urban Park, Sustran’s Connect2 and Sherwood: the Living Legend) so that informed decisions could be made about voting.
Cimex collaborated with BIG on a website that not only housed a credible voting system, but also aimed to represent the vision of each project accurately and responsibly, all the while supporting a television show on ITV.
Site features included:
Cimex was responsible for the technology, design, hosting and maintenance of the site. Cimex content editors also developed web editorial which helped engage and encourage users to post on the site’s forums, which were in turn moderated by web editors.
‘We were delighted that Cimex was able to bring the projects’ detailed plans to life in a style that complemented the exciting televisual element of the competition, whilst maintaining the high level of security necessary for awarding a large grant of public money,’ Deputy Director of Communications and Marketing: Big Lottery Fund
