A new online store for luxury wine retailer

Cimex launches a new e-commerce channel for H&H Bancroft Wines using the Magento e-commerce platform for growth.

Brief

H&H Bancroft Wines was established in 2007, and quickly found its place as a widely used online destination for wine shoppers and connoisseurs. In order to maintain and improve the company’s growth and level of online revenue, Cimex was asked to create a new e-commerce site that uses the latest technology and functionality to increase sales of core and fine wines, and raises the profile of H&H Bancroft in both the private and trade sales sectors.

Solution

Cimex designed the new online store and built it using the industry leading Magento e-commerce platform, taking full advantage of the numerous user features to facilitate scalability and promote growth.

As well as gathering a list of requirements from H&H Bancroft, an expert in online wine retailing was recruited who was able to provide some vital input into defining how the search, product categorisation and opportunities for cross-selling would be presented.

The new site now includes:

• customer ratings and feedback
• full Magento integration with the existing online payment system used by H&H Bancroft
• search results that can be filtered by country, region, price, type of grape and vintage
• real time integration with H & H Bancroft warehouse system
• multiple store fronts for private, trade and agency customers (customised prices / content)
• use of Magento discounts to provide promotional discounts as well as case purchase discounts
• dynamic live navigation which allows visitors to really drill down on a product
