European Food Safety Agency (EFSA)

Cimex completes first project from the European Union

Brief

Cimex was commissioned by the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) to redesign the corporate website.

The website is a key resource on feed and food safety for industry, national authorities, governments, EU organisations, research institutes, academia and the media. A user-centred design process was used to assess how well the site ‘influenced the influencers’ and met its business objectives.

Solution

Cimex undertook extensive user testing with around 50 participants in London and at the EFSA’s office in Parma. Users were drawn from EFSA personnel, scientists, stakeholders and opinion leaders from around Europe.

The activities carried out included:

  • requirements gathering workshops and card sorting
  • concept development and testing of a new IA
  • personas and scenarios development
  • wireframe user testing for usability
  • final concept / prototype creation
  • usability and accessibility testing on a functioning prototype with a range of disabled users

Result

Taking just three months to complete the thorough research, Cimex delivered templates to EFSA who applied them to their backend system.
